Fr David Taylor Sydney, AUS Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fr David Taylor, who died suddenly on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Northern Beaches Hospital, where he had recently been receiving care.

Fr David began his academic journey at University of Sydney, where he completed a Bachelor of Social Studies (Honours). In 1986, he entered St Patrick’s College, Manly to begin his priestly formation.

He was ordained to the priesthood on December 7, 1991, by Patrick Murphy at Corpus Christi Cathedral, marking the beginning of a life devoted to faithful service and pastoral care.

In 2009, Fr David was appointed Parish Priest of Manly–Freshwater, where he served with dedication and compassion. His leadership extended further when he was named Dean of the Northern Beaches in 2022, a role he held until his retirement in 2024.

Fr David will be remembered for his warmth, gentle humour, and unwavering commitment to the people he served. His ministry touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of kindness, faith, and community.
